The phenomenon popularly known as medical tourism is often cited as the next huge opportunity for India after the IT outsourcing to gain billions of dollars in foreign exchange earnings and make jobs in the health sector . So far, only a select group of hospitals in India have been making valiant attempts to market their services internationally. More than one million patients treated abroad and the top corporate hospitals in India such as Apollo, Fortis, Wockhardt, Max, Manipal and many others have shown the world that the clinical quality of technology and Cost Proposal India offered is unmatched. Two years ago the Government of India introduced a special category of visa called M visa for foreigners wishing to come to India for medical treatment. Ministry of Tourism of India has achieved phenomenal success in the past five years with his acclaimed “Incredible India” campaign which has increased foreign tourist arrivals to India. The year 2009 is being promoted by the Ministry of Tourism of India as “Visit India” The year and the ministry is willing to promote medical tourism. Recently reported the market Development Help (MDA) System for Medical Tourism option allows players to obtain financial support for participation in promotional events overseas.
